Shooting for the Deadpool movie is expected to start in March. As of now, Ryan Reynolds ("Green Lantern") is confirmed to play the lead. Meanwhile, six names are on the shortlist for the female lead.
After the Deadpool video leaked online which showed an action sequence with Reynolds is said the reason why the movie is happening at all. It was reported that Reynolds himself leaked the video to facilitate the promotion of the film, which the actor had denied.
However, since the movie is already confirmed, they are currently eyeing multiple actresses to play female lead. According to Deadline's report the names for Reynolds' co-star were down to six and will later down to three.
The actresses who were reported to be right fit for the role includes Jessica De Gouw, Taylor Schilling, Morena Baccarin, Crystal Reed, Sarah Greene, and Rebecca Rittenhouse.
Jesicca De Gouw is not new to teamed up with masked men in leather. She recently appeared on the CW's Arrow as the Huntress. She also played the object of Dracula's affection in the self-titled NBC series.
Taylor Schilling currently stars in the Netflix hit, Orange is the New Black. But she may trade in jumpsuits for katanas opposite Reynolds.
When it comes to TV credits, Morena Baccarin ranks first. She has appeared on Stargate: SG-1, V, Homeland, Gotham, and Firefly.
Crystal Reed was more than just a pretty face on MTV's Teen Wolf. She was a fighter with a purpose. She could be the yin to Deadpool's yang.
Irish actress Sarah Greene is making a name for herself over in the UK. She played remarkable role of Judith from History's Vikings.
Lastly, Rebecca Rittenhousemost is currently starred The Red Band Society. With only three credits, Deadpool could be her biggest project.
Meanwhile, productionweekly.com reported that the working title for the 20th Century Fox's Deadpool film is "Wham!"
It was said that a working title is used for big budget films to keep potential onlookers from realizing which film is actually being filmed like the "Cageheat" for Iron Man 3 and "Freezer Burn" for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
