The highy-anticipated clash between Batman and Superman is shaping up to be what is perhaps the highest grossing film of all time. It would certainly make movie history when both of these iconic superheroes finally cross paths on the big screen. While March 2016 seems like a lifetime to wait for fans, director Zack Snyder has already teased some photos on his Instagram account to calm the anticipation, at least for a little while.
According to a report, actress Christina Wren who plays Major Carrie Wren in the films teased about her possible future in the upcoming DC films.
"So there's some gossip; this has not been officially confirmed with me at all," Wren said. "But my character's name is Carrie Farris; there's a character named Carol Farris who's the Green Lantern's girlfriend and turns into this superhero, Star Sapphire. But I have no idea if that's the plan; they're not even slated to do a Green Lantern film for several years."
In the comicverse, an immortal race of immortal women called the Zamarons would choose physically identical mortals who would serve as the host body of their queen. This woman would become the Star Sapphire, and she would be gifted with the queen's weapon: an actual star sapphire ring which gives the wearer powers similar to that of Green Lantern.
"I can tell you that I think it's going to be badass! They're just such an awesome team," Wren continued. "The bits that I was on set for look fantastic; everyone in it is fantastic. It's exciting; it's high-energy; it's high-action. They are addressing all of the things that they set up in 'Man of Steel.'"
Meanwhile, director Zack Snyder also teased some photos on his Twitter account which included some snippets of the film's progress. One of these photos was that of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and what appears to be another Batman standing beside the Batmobile. What could this image mean? It certainly heightens the anticipation even more.
Could it be that the secondary villain for the upcoming film is Doomsday? While there are already reports that Lex Luthor is going to be the criminal mastermind in the film, could another possible villain be making his appearance? According to Badass Digest, Luthor will be able to create artificial Kryptoninas with Zod's DNA. He will also be able to create an all-powerful being with all of Superman's powers. Could this be Doomsday?
