Pepsi has collaborated with the Illinois-bred rock band Fall Out Boy in their new music promo called "Out of The Blue." The award-winning group is seen in the ad performed their single "Uma Thurman" from their latest album 'American Beauty/ American Psycho' in the middle of Los Angeles-area record-pressing plant Rainbo Records.
Pepsi's commercial, which aired last Sunday during the CBS Grammy live telecast, is part and parcel of their newest musical program that aims to develop presence in the music world. Consumers are given a chance to witness one-of-a-kind music experience, including backstage pass, access to rehearsals, meet-and-greet with the artists and many more.
For 100 days starting February 8, the soda company gives a fan each day of this musical experience. On May 18, one lucky winner will be chosen to receive a fly away ticket for the upcoming major event 'Out of the Blue' (including South By Southwest, the MTV Video Music Awards and the iHeartRadio Music Festival).
According to ischoolguide.com Fall Out Boy is a wise choice for the mega-brand to represent its newest musical promotion. The group's newest studio effort "American Beauty/American Psycho" debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200.
The band's bassist Pete Wentz has shared his thoughts to Billboard regarding their partnership with Pepsi."Music has become a fabric now, it's more pervasive than ever. And as an artist, you want to be able to infiltrate different areas and play in front of different people that you wouldn't otherwise."
The vocalist Patrick Stump also spoke to Billboard, "To be able to do one of our songs with Pepsi for some of our actual fans and be able to shoot in a record plant is crazy to me. There's not an open lane for us as a band necessarily so we have to create different lanes."
"It's a testament to our fans that our new record was even bigger than the last one. That's kind of crazy, and a little overwhelming, but we wanted to celebrate being a band that's always had maybe a little too much ambition," Stump added.
Stay tune for more Fall Out Boys update.
