Following the successful launch of Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta, fans now look forward to an official release date expected Q3 of this year with a huge amount of anticipation for a better and improved game.
According to 343 Industries statistical data, around 1 million people played 20 million matches throughout the beta's three-week period. Spartans killed each other over 180 million times, and the most popular power weapon used was the sniper rifle
The game developer's executive, Josh Holmes, has expressed his gratitude towards the fans who participated and provided useful feedbacks during the recently concluded Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer beta release.
"Looking back, this beta has been an amazing gift for us," Holmes said. "The feedback we have received from all of you has been invaluable in helping us to improve our game. On behalf of the entire Halo 5: Guardians team, we thank you for your support."
"We absolutely couldn't do this without you. I hope you enjoyed your first glimpse into the future of Halo multiplayer and look forward to sharing more with you in the months ahead," he added.
343 Industries came up with a shortlisted improvement out of the reported extensive match data mixed with hefty amount of user feedback to include in the Halo 5 Guardians release date, IGN reported.
Spartan Abilities
- Increase base speed (faster base movement)
- Increase strafe acceleration (faster, more responsive strafing)
- Reduce top sprint speed (narrow the delta between base movement and sprint)
- Modify Ground Pound controls to prevent conflicts with crouch jumping
- General tuning and bug fixes for all Spartan Abilities (Thrusters, Clamber, Ground Pound, etc.)
Weapons
- Sniper Rifle: Improve scope experience to making it less "clunky" and faster to scope
- DMR: Adjust position of the scope to improve visibility
- Bring back the SPNKr Rocket Launcher as a legendary version of the weapon
- Reduce bonuses for automatic weapons in Smart-Link and with headshots
- Remove grenade detonation in mid-air base don weapon fire
- Ability to turn on/off vibration feedback for weapons
- General tuning and bug fixing for all weapons
Competitive Skill Rating
- Improved skill detection during placement phase
- Improved skill matching
- Improved team balancing
- Prevent skill boosting
- General bug fixing and tuning
Matchmaking
- Much faster matches
- Better skill matching
- Better feedback to player in the lobby and matchmaking experiences
- Allow players to set desired data center for matchmaking (may impact matchmaking speed and skill balance)
- Improved party vs. party matchmaking
- Hide CSR ranks until in match to de-incentivize quitting
- Punish quitters with CSR penalties and matchmaking bans
Holmes also cited that there are still more tweaks and bug fixes that are being tracked.
"Everything from weapon placements on maps, to lighting improvements, to rule tweaks in game modes and modifications to the motion tracker to encourage more movement at higher levels of play," the executive producer said.
Halo 5: Guardians release date exclusive for Xbox One is anticipated in fall 2015.
