All is well in the Fox hip-hop drama series "Empire". Reports say that the series' ratings are breaking televisions records and even caught the attention of starts like Courtney Love and Jennifer Hudson. According to news, the two stars are signing up to have a special appearance on the show.
Jamal and Hakeem has already finished recording their singles and everyone is thinking that both songs will be a hit. But things are starting to get complicated for the Lyon's family. An unlikely ghost from the past returns and threatens the stability of their record company and the family as a whole.
Courtney Love gets her wish and will play as Elle Dallas, a former top artist of the Empire Entertainment who wants a comeback after losing the spotlight to drug addiction and too much expectation. Malcolm, the head of the security are creating too many new rules and is starting to catch the eye of Cookie. Finally a person from Jamal's past emerges. Olivia, played by Raven-Symone arrives with a child, a kid that could possibly be Jamal's.
Is Olivia really coming back for the kid or is the smell of fame and fortune lingering and has managed to entice her to create make a move towards something financially beneficial for her? Viewers speculates that it's just one of those one-time dilemma the Lyon's will be facing since Olivia doesn't seem to be becoming a regular cast just yet.
Unfortunately, the audience didn't seem to like the kissing scene shared by Jamal and his boyfriend Michael. Washington Post's Cecilia Kang said that the audience response "was indicative of the homophobia that many have discussed existing within parts of the African-American community."
Meanwhile, co-producers Daniel and String refused to delete the scenes and wanted to give the audience a reel time experience of what's true and really happening in the society.
