The Mi 4 comes with a slightly different settings but it is not entirely different from Android phones of this generation. For Mi 4 users, here are some basic and useful tips they can use to maximize the phone's features.
Customizing Menu Button
There are two ways in which Mi 4 users can customize the phone's menu display. First is for recent menu where the list of recent apps shows when the menu function key is pressed. This applies only to longpress menus.
Second is for easier access to a few other menus. To do this, go to Settings, then Device, and look for button named "Recent". Tap it to change the status of a particular app from and to Launch assistant, Show menu, or Close current up.
This option allows users to achieve a menu screen that resemble that of multitasking menu in iOS phones. By pinching in/out on an empty area in the multifunction screen, Mi 4 users can change the look and preview of what's going on in the app.
Extend Battery Life
Go to Settings, choose Additional Settings, and go to the battery section to turn the balanced mode on.
Disable Typing Vibration
From the apps Setting, look for Additional Settings and press it. Then pick the Language and input section. Press the Sound and vibration option to untick the Keypress vibration, the app that is making the typing vibration.
Setting Data Limit
Go to the Security app and press the Data Usage option. Tapping that option would give users three choices, and from those options, users can do many things like restrict particular app from using data, set a limit for data connection and activation, and set notification for expiry date.
Back up Settings
Go to Additional Settings option and tap on Backup and reset option. From a bunch of options that will show up, look for Local backups and tap on it. Doing so would direct users to a new window where a choice to back up systems, accounts, contacts, and apps would appear. An encrypted version of the backup can also be made by turning the encryption mode on.
