A team of expert tech reviewer from Dennis Publishing, a UK-based news publishing and whose team of tech reviewers is invited to the launching of the Galaxy S6 in Berlin, collates the rumors that turned out to be true about the upcoming release date and specs of Samsung Galaxy S6. What are those? Please read below:
Confirmed Rumor No.1. Release date on March 1. Samsung announced the release date of its Galaxy flagship phone on said date at the MWC in Barcelona. Samsung's previous model for this category, the Galaxy S5, was also launched at the MWC.
Confirmed Rumor No.2. Samsung smartphones will no longer support bloatware. The tech manufacturer wants to get rid of pre-installed apps on its devices and retain only those near-stock Android levels. This means enjoying several advantages, from downloading only the preferred apps to saving space, from making cleaner installation to having superb phone's performance.
Confirmed Rumor No. 3. Samsung will no longer use plastic for its handsets. In one of its financial reports, Samsung indicated that it will be moving away from plastic for its smartphones. Hence, the S6 will be made of either metal or glass. Samsung have already used metal for its Galaxy Alpha line, the premium-build devices with full metal bodies. It will also be using full metal unibodies for its upcoming Galaxy A series phones such as A3, A5, and A7.
A Samsung Galaxy S6 with all-metal body will have a non-removable battery which makes sense given the power saving benefits that the enhanced Exynos CPU and the new PoP memory can bring to the Galaxy S6.
Confirmed Rumor No. 4. Samsung will use either/both the Exynos chipset and/or Qualcomm's Snapdragon for the devices' processors. As to which a buyer would have, it would depend on where the handset would come from as it could come with different specifications in different countries.
Other rumors that are likely to be true include the S6 sporting a curved edge display. This is after Samsung provided a teaser image for the press invite where the phone shows distinctly Note Edge-type device. The tech reviewer is not discounting the possibility, though, that it may come with two options. One with edged screen design and one without.
This is also reported in an article published by Forbes, indicating that the Galaxy S6 will probably have 2 variants. These are the S6 and the Galaxy S Edge.
