TV writer and novelist Suzanne Collin's most accomplished masterpiece "The Hunger Games" series will be having its sequel this November. Just as the fans were counting the months down to "Mockingjay" part 2 premiere, Lionsgate initiated and created a buzz by calling the attention of the fans through an announcement of "Mandatory viewing" ordered by President Snow last February 16. It was then followed by a binary code which needed to be cracked by the fans. The decoded message brought the fans to different websites and hidden in the HTML codes is the #UnlockMockingjay. The fans tweeted their way to global trending list and then finally, the deleted scene from the Mockingjay part 1 was found in Tumblr.
Why Was The Two Clips Deleted From the Roll? Will Katniss Have A Total Change Of Heart?
The two unlocked clips are about Peeta Mellark's (Josh Hutcherson) conversation with President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and Katniss' (Jennifer Lawrence) transformation to the face of a revolution. The secret clip about the conversation of Peeta and Snow explained why he spoke in behalf of the Capitol. This scene actually stitches up the mystery behind Peeta's state in the enemy's side but director Francis Lawrence justified why the scene was cut out from the film.
"Because the books are so Katniss-centric, and every scene you see and hear and experience is through Katniss' eyes, we have an opportunity to expand outward from her a bit in the movies. But there's a point at which scenes feel like they don't work." Lawrence said. "The big dramatic question of 'Mockingjay - Part 1' is will we get Peeta back? Is Peeta okay?", he further explains. "To see Peeta alive, looking pretty well and being brought into a nice place for an interview feels like it was letting a little air out of the bag. It gave away too much. So sort of for the combination of those reasons, we let it go."
Another issue has been going on regarding the storyline of the sequel of Mockingjay. Will our heroine have a change of heart and finally give in to a newfound love in Peeta's arms? We've witnessed the romantic connection between Gale (Liam Hemsworth) in the first film but we saw this spring and die at the same time. In Catching Fire, we saw the connection between Peeta and Katniss grow into something more real, that it is going on even off the Capitol's screen. We believe that Katniss will make definite choice in the "Mockingjay Part 2".
