Oscar Pistorius Murder Update: Paralympian enjoys privileges behind bars; Reeva Steenkamp's killer a role model for other inmates?

By

Two years ago, Oscar Pistorius killed his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. He was charged with culpable homicide and was sent to jail. We think that he's having the worst time behind bars. Quite the contrary, he is living an almost normal life.

According to one source, Pistorius is enjoying a number of privileges. He can already have personal contact with his visitors. Plus, he has an allowance to buy himself toiletries. His family was thrilled with this news as they believe that the famous paralympian was depressed during his first days inside the prison.

One report shared that Pistorius was able to complete his rehabilitation program where he was taught to manage his emotions. He was also referred to as a role model. This might have helped him earn more privileges. He also tries to isolate himself from the rest of the inmates. This is because the area is known for having a lot of violent attacks including sexual and physical ones.

For further understanding, culpable homicide means that one does not have an intention to kill but his actions or negligence resulted to a death of a person. The Steenkamps are not happy with the court's decision. They are certain that Reeva was intentionally killed by his former boyfriend.

Pistorius was very firm with his claim that he thought there was an intruder in their house and believed that his former girlfriend was in bed. Apparently, the court believed this story. Reeva's mother is aware that her daughter's relationship with Pistorius was on the rocks. In fact, she was about to leave the Blade Runner. That's one story we will never know since Reeva is already gone.

Imagine the pain that the Steenkamps are facing. Oscar Pistorius' perks inside the jail doesn't really help them in coping up with the agony after losing their child. Hopefully, the whole truth will be revealed for everyone's peace.
