Done with zombies and vampires? Neil Blomkamp has been making some noise about possible return of Sigourney Weaver's iconic creepy nemesis on the big screen. The 'Chappie' director is reportedly tapped by 20th Century Fox to resurrect Alien movie reboot in cinemas soon. Do the Alien originals Weaver and Ridley Scott going to be part of it?
Thanks that both Weaver and Blomkamp are parts of upcoming film Chappie; the reboot of Alien film franchise has advance campaign as early as now. Even host-comedian Jimmy Fallon of 'The Tonight Show' teased Weaver to give clues about the cult-classic movie when she guessed to promote her science -fiction film about a goody robot.
Weaver shared that she and Blomkamp have been discussing about it. However instead of revealing her participation in the film, she brought up C.K. Louis' dream to be part of it.
"I wanna be in it, and I wanna die in a terrible way," said the 65-year old actress, who played the iconic role Ellen Ripley that appeared in the original 1979 and other Alien installments.
Meantime, even on Instagram the South African director had been giving hints about his next project which will produce by film's original director Ridley Scott.
"Um... So I think it's officially my next film. #alien," Neil's message on Feb. 18,"
"Was working on this. Don't think I am anymore. Love it though. #alien #xenomorph."
Reportedly, the next Alien film's setting follows 'Prometheus' 2 story, which Scott currently working on. For recap, the 2012 Prometheus film was also about extraterrestrials that apparently ancestors of modern aliens. The box office hit film was top billed by Noomi Rapace of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' (Sweden), Michael Fassbender of 'X Men Days of Future Past,' and South African actres Charlize Theron.
