"Kingdom Hearts 3" has been surrounded by rumors as of late, which makes the anticipation even more exciting for all the gamers and fans who cannot wait to get their hands on what could be the last title in the "Kingdom Hearts" series.
So far, the "Kingdom Hearts 3" developers have confirmed that the rumored last title would try to connect all the dots and join the missing links in the previous game titles. "Kingdom Hearts" co-director Tai Yasue said that gamers should expect characters from both "Kingdom Hearts 1.5" and Kingdom Hearts 2.5" to be part of the alleged last title on the series.
Yasue said that a lot of characters from the two earlier HD titles would reappear in "Kingdom Hearts 3." He added that there would be "events" in the supposed last title that would feature a "backstory" of the previous titles in "Kingdom Hearts." Yasue mentioned that this would be done to introduce to new gamers the "Kingdom Hearts" universe that was created over a decade ago.
Yasue also admitted that they had to work double time in developing "Kingdom Hearts 3," while making the HD versions. He added that there were teams the worked "simultaneously" with the HD versions so these could be released immediately in preparation for the rumored last title in the series. Yasue said that the purpose of launching the HD versions was to reorient gamers and fans to the "Kingdom Hearts" universe that was released several year ago in different platforms. With the HD versions, the gamers would experience the entire "Kingdom Hearts" universe in PS3.
Meanwhile with the release of the "Kingdom Hearts 3," gamers would soon be experiencing the the game's universe with old characters plus new ones in PS4 and Xbox One . Rumors point to titles that were acquired by Disney in the previous months that might be included in the game, probably characters from Star Wars or the Marvel universe.
Speaking of ending the series, Yasue revealed that he loved making "Kingdom Hearts" and it would be hard to say if this would even be the last title in the series. This might even mean expanding towards unchartered territory. "Kingdom Hearts 3" might feature an "online multiplayer feature." This could either be in the form of PvP or co-op.
However, this has not yet been proven, although, Square Enix had been looking for specialists that could perform tasks required mainly for online games. With the teams working like clockwork, it would only be a matter of time before these speculations could be confirmed.
