Former Exo members Kris and Luhan are still under the process of settling their nullification contract with former handler and record label SM Entertainment. After leaving the group several months ago has not yet settled and further negotiations on getting their contract void are still in court.
However, these two performers were scheduled to perform last February 18, on CCTV's Nee Year's Gala. They sang several cover Chinese songs and performed with former group mates Davod Tao, Andy Lau, Na Ying and Karen Mok.
While Luhan and Kris are trying to continue to pursue their singing careers in China, as well as their careers in acting, they are still in the process of resolving the termination of their contracts with the popular South Korean entertainment production SM Entertainment. Unfortunately, the production company filled a legal complaint in Shanghai against Luhan for "participating in entertainment-related activities in China" without informing or consulting the company.
SM entertainment is also filing charges against the companies who hired Luhan to appear in several advertisements, again, without the consent of the South Korean production label. Kris seems to be uninvolved in the lawsuit. The record label also holds to the fact that they are still in control of the activities, performances and other income generating activities of the two as long as the management contract they have with the two ex-members of EXO are still in binding. Their release from the contract is only possible upon the final judgment of the case, which is still far from its closure.
The two are even accused of allegedly using the popularity of EXO to land into new projects both in the music and the entertainment industry as a whole. They also allegedly infringe several rights for being a former member of the band which caused SM Entertainment and the existing members of the group suffer huge financial loses.
Contract disputes between the two parties are still in session in the Korean Courts.
