The 90's popular kids' show "Power Rangers" is probably one of the longest shows which has dominated the childhood lives of the kids and those who are kids at heart. According to a Lionsgate, the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" will definitely be revived for a reboot. "With an extensive and extremely devoted worldwide fan base as well as a deep and detailed mythology, the Power Rangers are primed for the big screen." the studio giant announced. Haim Saban, the genius behind the Power Rangers franchise said that he's leaving the revival into the studios hands.
"Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from 'The Hunger Games' to 'Twilight' and 'Divergent.' In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we're confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy of its own."
With the excitement of the fact that every 90's kids hero will be relived in the big screens, some fans do wonder if the original cast will have a cameo appearance. Jason David Frank, one of the longest active ranger debunked the rumors that the original cast will be playing their previous roles. As some may don't know, most of the cast has already passed away or got into an unfortunate fate. However, David Yost (Billy Cranston), the one who played as Blue Ranger shot down the mysterious curse rumors.
"I've never heard there's a curse," the actor said. "But obviously anyone who's stepping into the role of a Power Ranger - I just hope that they realize how exciting that is and the impact they will have on many people's lives throughout the world and do their best to portray a good superhero." he added in his statement.
There's still no official news on the casting but popular hero and heroine leads such as Shailene Woodley and Taylor Lautner's names are on the people's list for the probable candidates for the roles.
