Xperia Z3 owners shall brace themselves for what is coming near as reports suggest that Android 5.0 Lollipop update will come out very soon for the Sony's flagship smartphone.
The Xperia Blog hints that the firmware just got a Wi-Fi Alliance certification last February 16, which in a manner guarantees the release soon.
Like any other Android 5.0 rollouts, Sony is pushing for the update in phases. Once a user is notified of the update's availability, simply click the notification message and follow onscreen instructions. If automatic update is not available, user can do manual updating by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check Now.
Meanwhile, Sony Xperia Z4, with codename Ivy, is rumored to come out in dual SIM variant. Reportedly known as the PM-0851-BV, Z4's dual SIM capacity shows this is the only difference from its predecessor for now.
A leaked screenshot however suggests that Sony is in the lookout for Android 5.0.2 possibly for Z4. The screenshots seen were that of the "Settings" menu and its "About Phone" section, which reveals that the handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM 8994 chipset. Meanwhile, the clock app and the dialer is largely inspired by Google's Material Design UI.
In a benchmark test via Geekbench, Sony Xperia Z4 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The device is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch, 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch triluminos screen display, 20.7 MP rear camera, 4.8 MP front camera, 32 GB internal storage, 2.8 GB RAM, 3420 mAh battery, and Qi wireless charging.
Release in 2014, Xperia Z3 is critically acclaimed because of its unique branding. Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai stressed in a report that the next generation Xperia shall focus on camera revamp and PlayStation units to boosts up profit 25-folds in three years' time.
Qualcomm recently announced names of companies who are about to use their hardware.
Sony Mobile Senior Vice President Gen Tsuchikawa said in Qualcomm's website: "Whether it's long-lasting battery life, watching the latest movies or enjoying music in Hi-Res Audio quality, our customers are increasingly demanding more from their Xperia device to deliver the latest content and entertainment experiences."
Sony Xperia Z4, which is said to unveiled this March 1 at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain. With its significant upgrades, Xperia Z4 is expected to change the fate of Sony's smartphone lines.
Nevertheless, Sony geeks have to wait first for the official statement of the tech company or any press briefing to ramp up chances that Z4 is really coming out not sooner than later.
