With the hit TV series "Game of Thrones" devouring material from George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" as fast as it could per season, many avid fans were wondering if the author would be able to keep up with the pace. Some fans were even asking what would happen if the natural order was broken when the TV series come ahead of the author's work, "The Winds of Winter?"
For Martin, it would be like, fans should keep calm and enjoy the show. In fact, the author had already posted a promotional video of the next season for the epic TV Series "Game of Thrones." Although it would be an impossibility that the TV series would cover the last published novel in the series, "A Dance of Dragons," before Martin could complete "The Winds of Winter," the author still gave his piece on alleged release dates for his upcoming novel.
In his official journal, Martin explained that he would not time "The Winds of Winter" to any holiday or specific date, it would be released when he is done. He said that, "I won't time it to coincide with Christmas or Valentine's Day or Lincoln's Birthday, the book will not rise from the dead with Jesus on Easter Sunday. He added that, "when it's done, I will say that it's done, on whatever day I happen to finish."
He also mentioned that fans could check his journal for any announcement about the book's completion. Martin said that, "when it's done, I will announce it here." He added that, "there won't be any clues to decipher, any codes or hidden meanings, the announcement will be straightforward and to the point."
Perhaps, that would dilute any fantastic theories from fans or rumor mongers. As for a glimpse of what's to come in "The Winds of Winter," Martin had posted an excerpt from the novel in his website. The sample featured Arya Stark (Mercedene) as a mummer at a playhouse called "the Gate."
