Xiaomi's Mi5 smartphone leaked online recently, supplying the internet with tons of new information about the future Xiaomi phone- and the phone may prove so popular that it may propel Xiaomi into an entirely new level of success.
The Mi5 is rumored to feature an edge-to-edge display with no bevels whatsoever. That's a similar design to Samsung's Galaxy Edge phone, and may prove an important factor in the phone market. According to Christian Today, we also have a few other specs about the rumored Xiaomi phone.
Apparently, it will hold a Snapdragon 810 chipset, and will also have a 64-bit capable octa-core processor along with 3 GB of RAM. Allegedly, the newest Xiaomi Mi5 phone could also contain a Snapdragon 820 chipset, along with a much smaller and much faster Taipan processor.
Christian Today reports that the Xiaomi Mi5 will likely release this year, in 2015.
International Business Times offers a few more details on the Mi5- specifically, that it may not be called the Mi5 at all. Officially, the phone is only known as a successor to the Xiaomi Mi4. With that in mind, the name could be the Xiaomi Mi4s- another potential name given by International Business Times.
The phone's already making huge waves, and helping to push Xiaomi into a bigger marketshare and a bigger presence overall in the tech community. Economic Times reports that the company is growing enormously in India, and that the company's "online only" strategy is a massive success. If that continues- and, more importantly, if the Mi5 is a hit, this could be a whole new era of dominance for the Chinese mobile company.
Still, there's a lot of competition out there (especially if the Mi5 is similar to a Samsung phone), so the market's still undecided. Check back soon for the latest specs on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5.
