Avengers 2 Countdown: Thor, Nick Fury & Black Widow Posters Also Out as Age of Ultron Premier Draws Near

By

With less than two months remaining before the much-anticipated release of Avengers: The Age of Ultron, Disney’s promotional campaign seems to be shifting to a higher gear. The week was kicked off to a start with the release of solo posters of three more team members—Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Colonel Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

This brings to a total of five the number of solo posters of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes available to the hordes of eager fans as well as movie memorabilia collectors. Posters of Iron Man and The Hulk were also released last week.

The three latest solo poster releases was made courtesy of Jackson’s Twitter account. In it, he Tweets, “Feast your eyes on the character poster for Nick Fury.” Jackson’s cinematic alter-ego was spelled with a hashtag, as in #NickFury. Screen Rant observed that Fury is shown back to wearing his trademark leather trench coat and eye patch, which may indicate that he no longer needs to go about incognito, as he did when we last saw him in Captain America 2.

Speaking of Captain America (Chris Evans), his solo poster is also expected to come out within the next few days, and so will the Hawk Eye (Jeremy Renner) solo. Since the star-spangled hero is supposed to be the team leader of the Avengers, it stands to reason that Disney/Marvel may have something special in mind for his solo poster. In any case, fans and collectors won’t have to wait long to find out.

As for Thor, Cinema Blend attempts to answer a basic question that those new to the exciting universe of Marvel Comics may not yet know. That is, “what does Thor bring to the table?” Thor, who also happens to be known as The God of Thunder, comes packaged with his wealth of Asgardian knowledge as well as an ability to travel between “realms” or dimensions, the website explained. In his solo poster, Thor is shown apparently ready to smite an army of Ultron minions with his enchanted hammer.
