By

Eager fans will now have a massive Photos app experience as the first Apple OS X Yosemite OS 10.10.3 public beta has been officially released to beta program for trial.

With build number 14D87p, OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Public Beta is now made available to download through the Mac App Store by clicking the updates tab. If not, the beta update can be downloaded at Apple's website. To download this, register Apple ID, and then download a small file that authorizes Mac to receive the software. Only install update on a secondary Mac.

The download is available to users who have registered for the free OS X Beta Program. Apple recommends that users upgrade the beta software on a system or partition that they are ready to remove if the situation calls for it. The tech giant also noted that users should back up their Mac when using beta software.

The new Photos app organizes a user's photo library and helps to transform photos with wide-ranging editing tools. With iCloud Photo Library, users can also store their photos and videos and can be accessed through all devices.

According to Apple, the features of the new Photos app include the ability to:

  • Store all photos and videos in iCloud Photo Library in their original format and in full resolution
  • Brose images by location and time in Moments, Collections, and Years views
  • Enhance photos with powerful and easy to use editing tools that optimize with a single click or slider, or allow precise adjustments with detailed controls
  • Direct a library using convenient Photos, Shared, Albums, and Projects tabs
  • Purchase prints in new square and panoramic sizes
  • Create professional-quality photo books with simplified bookmarking tools, new Apple-designed themes, and new square book formats

Apple has replaced iPhoto on the Mac with Photos app. Beta application has been tested by developers since it became available last month.
