Caitriona Balfe is "lovely human being" and "a lot of fun" according to her 'Outlander' leading man . The  Scottish actor may  not know these traits of his  on-screen partner if she never casted in the Starz series and uttered words "Stop! Help! He's going over!" as per show's producers. Does this duo have more than friends' relationship behind cameras?

A bonus for fans, first half of Outlander's season 1 has released in the market with accompanying features like interviews with show's producers Maril Davis and Ronald D. Moore. In their interviews, the two execs told that the 35-year old  Irish actress nabbed her lead role with how  effective she threw lines  "Stop! Help! He's going over!"

Apparently that's only the first step as Caitriona sealed the role when they see her instant chemistry with Heughan during the  screen test.

"As soon as they got together, we just knew," Davis shared.

Meantime, Balfe's love team with Heughan is one of the highlights of the show. They've been only Claire  Randall and Sam Fraser for 8 episodes so far and yet their partnership enjoys huge following already. Perhaps, it might be also the reason why Outlander beat 'Walking Dead' and 'Games of Thrones' as Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show in  2015 People's Choice Award.

"She's just a lovely human being," Heughan said about Balfe in his interview with Channel Guide Magazine. "She's a lot of fun. We hang out when we're there and we hang out when we're in Los Angeles as well. We went on a hike a few weeks ago. Yeah. It's great. I'm very lucky. She's a friend," Sam said about Balfe

Season 1's second half will start to air on April 4, with  Outlander's 9th episode. Heughan shared during Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour that there would be beating scenes. Those would sound like a case of domestic violence, but Sam explained  it actually a way to solidify their relationship.

"Jamie, whether he believes it is the right thing to do or not, it's what he has to do to teach her a lesson. That was how he's been brought up,"  Scottish actor said . "They both learn a lesson about the relationship. It strengthens their relationship and moves it forward."
