The ABC drama series concluded its first season on a high note. The two-hour season finale of 'How to get away with murder' had a heart-stopping and explosive storyline keeping fans of the show on the edge of their seats. The episode also ended with a shocker, setting up fans with unresolved questions for season two.
The first half of the season finale primarily focused on Annalise's (Viola Davis) new case which had involved Father Crawford (Tom Everett Scott) being accused of murdering a fellow priest. Wes (Alfred Enoch) and Laurel (Karla Souza) would further invesitigate Rebecca's (Katie Findlay) involvement in Lila's murder.
Annalise would show some struggle as she would attempt to juggle the new case with Father Crawford and the on-going investigation of Nate (Billy Brown). It is evident that there is some internal struggle on the part of Annalise and it is refereshing to see how her character has developed all throughout the season.
The burning question of the episode was who actually killed Lila Stangard? Connor (Jack Falahee) and Oliver (Conrad Ricamora), whose relationship on the show became quite a fan favorite were dealing with some emotional baggage. While the two have undeniable chemisty, their relationship is put to the test as it is found out that Oliver is HIV-positive. Both actors give gut-wrenching performances as they open up their vulnerabilites to each other.
Rebecca is one character that no one really knows much about. Findlay delivers a flawless performance as she struggles with her love for Wes, while apparently not trusting him. She proves to be quite the manipulator as she tries to get her way with Keating and Associates. Annalise finds that her law students have got Rebecca all tied up. Annalise takes this opportunity to have a little chat with Rebecca about Wes and her friendship with Lila.
When Rebecca's name is finally cleared up, the moment does not last long it is found out that she has disappeared. It was revealed that Frank had killed Lila on orders from Sam. The most shocking news of the night was that Rebecca is found murdered and her body was stashed in the basement.
Season two will have a lot of burning questions to answer. Who killed Rebecca? How will Oliver and Connor deal with their relationship now that Oliver has HIV? Will anyone find out about Frank's involvement with Lila?
