'Arrow' and 'Flash' join forces for the upcoming spin-off. The CW and Warner Bros. are now planning for the upcoming project, and they plan to include some popular casts from both TV series, it was reported.
Deadline reported that the CW and Warner Bros. are in the early stages of the development of the upcoming spin-off. They are now planning the inclusion of the fan-favorite casts from 'Arrow' and 'Flash'. It was revealed that Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), and Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/Black Canary) are all included in the cast. Though, Caity's involvement (whether she will play the same or new superhero) since technically her character was killed off Arrow this season.
The project is still at early stage and it has no title yet. But it was also reported that the cross-over of characters could be possible. Breathecast stated that that three undisclosed DC superheroes, who have not yet appeared on a television series, are to be included in the project.
The series, described as "a superhero team-up show," is being headed by the persons behind Arrow and The Flash: Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim, all three of whom will serve as executive producers alongside the Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Prods' Sarah Schechter.
According to the same report, fans can expect this show to premiere early next mid-season. There is also a rumor that it will skip the pilot stage and go straight to series.
Meanwhile, the 'teaming up' of superheroes has been proven to be successful, like what happened to the Justice League and The Avengers comics. "Marvel's The Avengers have crossed over to features, with DC's Justice League also on its way to the big screen. Routh is repped by UTA and Main Title, Lotz is repped by UTA and Atlas Artists," Deadline wrote.
Executive producer Greg Berlanti confirmed the news of a spin-off on Twitter:
"Yes, we're creating a spinoff from #Arrow and #TheFlash and couldn't be more excited by the cast signing on. More to come. #SuperheroTeamUp" - Greg Berlanti (@GBerlanti) February 27, 2015
