Hilary Duff recently opened up in an interview what it's like to get married at the young age and not bitter. 'A Cinderella Story' actress shared that her relationship with ex husband NHL player Mike Comrie didn't stay long well due to mismatch. Is her former boyfriend Aaron Carter the right one for her?
The 27-year old singer-actress has filed from divorce on February 20 from her husband of four years, as reported by TMZ. According to Us Weekly's source, the wild night story about Comrie where he repordtedly drunk and hitting on a waitress was one of the reasons that prompted Duff to divorce him.
"Hilary finally realized Mike wasn't going to change," the Us' source shared. "He totally blew it and chose to live life like he was single."
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the 'Lizzie McGuire' star said she's lucky to have him and they shared love, but it just their relationship didn't work well.
"It was just a slow set-in of us not being the match that we used to be," she said.
Hilary was one the busiest young singer-actresses in her generation. She starred in television show, movies and hit albums, but she surprised the public when she got married at 22. The 'Yesterday' singer didn't regret the choice she made and said she's mostly happy when they were together. However it seems that her marriage changed her view on long-lasting relationship.
"I don't want to sound bitter because I'm definitely not, but I don't know if people are meant to be together forever. Things happen over a long relationship that you can't always fight. A marriage of 20 years, the accomplishment of that must feel really great, but there are also huge sacrifices. I just always want to fight for happiness."
Meantime, Duff brushed off an issue about Carter who expressed on Twitter his desire to win her back. The 26-year old 'I Want Candy' singer posted the love of his life that he lost for being stupid.
"Him reaching out through social media? It's ridiculous!" she says. "But then people do it all the time, like Chris Brown and Karrueche? Come on, guys. Keep it between text messages."
Around the same month last year when Aaron shared his feelings about Hilary whom he dated in 2000s. Reportedly, their split caused by another teen idol Lindsay Lohan. "I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her," Carter's message. "I don't care what ANY of you think."
