The Great Barrington Historical Society has officially recognized the historical significance and truthfulness of the claims regarding UFO sighting and alien abduction in 1960's.
In an interview with The Boston Globe, Debbie Opperman, the director of the Great Barrington Historical Society, confirmed her belief in the story. They have inducted the case because they are convinced that the claims were founded on truth, reported International Business Times.
"It means that we believe it is true," she said.
She also understands the consequence of the decision but she is quite confident in the evidence they gathered that points to the truthfulness of the case.
"I know we're going to get a lot of backlash. We're going to get hammered," she continued. "But we have given it an awful lot of thought, and, based on the evidence we've been given, we believe this is a significant and true event."
The Great Barrington Historical Society inducted the case in view of the very strong evidence with the examination by US Air Force's official UFO investigation, Project Blue Book, and in 1992 it was mentioned in the United Nations.
They also stated: "This renowned case has received international recognition due to factual and corroborated evidence as well as first hand testimony, including recent polygraph test, the Great Barrington Historical Society confirms that the Reed off-world incident is historically significant and true and warrants induction in the GBHS collection."
Thomas Reed claimed that he personally saw and encountered the UFO and the aliens, reported The Boston Globe. His first encounter was when he was still 6 six years old. He and his younger brother were on their horse farm when they noticed some strange lights coming from the forest and strange figures in their hallway. They also remember seeing a large disc-shaped craft in the forest.
Following that encounter happened a few years later. While driving with his mother, younger brother, and grandmother, Reed saw strange lights from the sky. Then suddenly they found themselves in a room where they met with two large ant-like creatures, and in a few moments, they were back in their car.
