Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge US Release Date Guide: Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile

Major mobile carriers in the US are now getting prepped as the worldwide launch of Samsung Galaxy S6, alongside Galaxy S6 Edge, on April 10 nears. Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile are now brewing strategies to take advantage of the upcoming Samsung smartphone device.

Verizon first revealed their version of Galaxy S6 on microblogging site Twitter on March 1. In a tweet posted by @VZWNews, Verizon's Galaxy S6 model along with Galaxy S6 Edge will be released by second quarter of 2015. The tweet reads: "Samsung #GalaxyS6 & S6 edge will be available early 2nd quarter on the Verizon 4G LTE network." The post is accompanied by two photos showing the smartphone with Verizon branding on the back panels.

The mobile carrier also shows in its website Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in black and white variants. Verizon has not release an official statement as of now regarding the phone's exact release date.

Meanwhile, online retailer Amazon.com offer up Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagship smartphones through signup page. Interested buyers can sign up on a special discount privilege. According to the site, customers who sign up before March 31 will receive the latest information on the availability of the new devices and will also receive a special code good for 10% off of any accessory for either of the new devices.

Aside from Verizon, Amazon will make AT&T and Sprint versions of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge available as it typically sells smartphones from three carriers. T-Mobile is rumored to join the bandwagon on a later date. Amazon has maximum savings allowed from use of the offer is $30, and the sign up period expires at the end of March, 30 days after the code is sent via email on March 1.

According to a report, US will receive black and white models of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge only out of other variants like blue, gold and green. Last year, Galaxy S5 was initially released in black and white color options in the US. Blue and gold variants became available months later.

Possibly though, US carriers may release Galaxy S6 a few days or weeks after the April 10 schedule as has happened in the past. However, earlier release could also happen as previously some carriers also shipped handsets to customers few days before the official rollout.
