It has been almost three years since the first installment of the movie Prometheus was released in the cinema and yet, news about when Prometheus 2, its sequel is not yet discussed or released. Several angles and plot ideas have already been discussed through the years but the production and crew of the movie are still keeping it mum in the developmental process of the movie sequel.
Ridley Scott, the director of the first movie is set to direct the sequel and is currently helping with the plot and casting of the new movie. Recent reports from Prometheus2-movie.com, a fan site dedicated in following the developments of the movie, revealed that English actor Rik Barnett is being signed up for an undisclosed but very important role in the movie. The source also adds that the undisclosed role will be connected with that of Roomi Rapace's character played by Elizabeth Shaw. Barnett's entry in the movie also proves to be crucial in creating the 'new' plot the sequel is about to reveal.
Fans and movie critics are also assuming that the new plot of the series will be a back-story of what lead the exploration in the first place. There were such a lot of questions that came with the first installment of the movie, thus the second one would prove to bring the "keys" and the story behind the story of how "Prometheus" came to be.
The first movie was set in 2093 wherein explorers set forth on a mission to find a new "Earth" the human beings could possibly thrive. They happened to find one but later on discovered that the place was actually the origin of human beings. That being discovered prompted Weyland Corporation to do evil and torment the existing beings in that world to achieve its ulterior dark motive.
