Fans of the ABC crime drama series feel like they are being left in the dark as to whether or not Castle will be renewed for another season or not. Executive producer has not given word of the show's fate, though he has remained optimistic about it.
"I think the show has a number of years left in it, if the TV gods smile upon us," Amann said, "I think there is plenty of story left to be told with these characters."
While the executive producer has been positive about the show getting a renewal, he also admits that it is not well within his power to have the final say on things. For fans of the show, Amann is giving off mixed signals.
Added to that, Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic's contracts are up after Season 7. Katic, who plays Kate Beckett on the show had expressed her doubts about signing on for another season.
"I don't think that a show should overstay its welcome," Katic said "If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it's better to stop when you're on top, because I admire the way that they did that with 'The Wire,' you know? Tell a great story and then go home and move onto something else. Don't milk it 'just because.'"
Castle season 7 will be returning this March 16. The upcoming episode, entitled "Hong Kong Hustle" will have Beckett and Castle dealing with a new aspect of their married life-being jealous of your husband's partner? What happens when Richard Castle gets paired off with a 'gorgeous Hong Kong lady'? It will be fun to see serious Beckett's jealous side.
Is the crime solving couple ready to welcome a new baby into their lives? "She's trying to figure out what her next step is, and that encompasses family. Her relationship with Castle is settled, so she's at a place now where she really needs to be thinking about, 'What does she want that future to be?' It seems like children are going to naturally be a part of that discussion." Amann said.
A baby Castle would be an interesting addition to the storyline. It would certainly be refreshing to see Castle and Beckett as parents in future episodes. Fans could certainly count on the pair on being interesting parents indeed.
