Since "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was announced, there's been so many rumors and potential plot spoilers about the film that it's impossible to keep track of all of them. Completely impossible. But rumors are also a ton of fun, and a huge new one's just popped up online. We might as well dive in.
The rumor, according to Flickering Myth, involves the opening sequence of the movie, which apparently involves Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley), visiting a bar run by Rose (Lupita Nyong'o). Apparently, the bar is similar to the classic "Star Wars" cantina, and Rose is a character portrayed by a puppet.
This scene will also have majors ties to another rumored sequence- a flashback involving a young Luke Skywalker. Flickering Myth claims the flashback will involve "Dead bodies lay on the floor of a Jedi Academy. Luke shows up, sees what has happened, and departs." Later on, that scene will tie back to the present day, as the villain Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) attacks a number of soldiers in a "fierce battle," Ren and Rey will have an important moment together.
However, JoBlo has a separate description of the opening sequence of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which sounds quite different from the first.
"The film does open with a lightsaber in space. It falls to the ground in a savannah environment during the day. It is quickly discovered by a farmer named Naka. Naka accidentally ignites the weapon and starts a fire with it. At first he runs, but then turns around and obtains the weapon. I assume he snatches the weapon so it is not destroyed in the fire. Naka then takes the weapon to his elder called The Vicar."
It's not entirely clear which opening sequence is the right one. However, there is one thing that's absolutely clear: Simon Pegg will be in the film. International Business Times reports that a helicopter pilot working on the film spotted Pegg while eating lunch on set. While it's not clear what role he'd play, he's got to be involved in the next "Star Wars" somehow.
