The season finale of the "Drop Dead Diva" was aired almost a year ago, June 22, 2014 and fans are started to get weary and hopeless that the show would be back for another season, Season 7. The Lifetime Network already announced last year, during the final episode of season 6 that the season would be the last and the conclusion of the exciting and funny life of plus-size attorney Jane.
"All will be finally revealed in the final season of Lifetime's critically-acclaimed hit series," the network shared. As of the moment, Lifetime Network neither confirms nor denies the cancellation of the show.
The series was already cancelled earlier in 2013 when the shows rating fluctuated downwards during its fourth season prompting the network to cancel it for season 5. Fortunately they were also given another chance to prove themselves in season 6 but with the diminishing number of viewers engaged in the show, a season 7 might not be happening at all.
Meanwhile, show creator Josh Berman is still hopeful that a season 7 could actually happen. They were given two more chances, so a third one could also be possible. They are even bringing their campaign for another season in social media, hopefully making Lifetime Network reconsider.
"We've been canceled before, but with our fan base and already seeing the petitions online and the movement to bring it back, I think anything is potentially possible," Berman shared. The power of social media is really indeed very vast and campaigning for another season of the series could actually prove to be worthwhile. Berman even mentioned the series 'The Killing' that was already cancelled but was renewed again twice for another new season. Hi remains positive that a second chance could be possible for their beloved show.
"Drop Dead Diva" is about a beautiful wannabe model Deb, who unfortunately died in a car accident and managed to be revived in an unlikely new life and body, that of Jane Bingum, a plus-sized brilliant attorney. Her new life was far from what she expected but offered something new and exciting for the drop dead diva.
