One Direction member was listed as the third most influential in their power list while the head of the Labor Party Ed Miliband was at number four.
The Doncaster Free Press caution that while the power list was undertaken by an independent panel, the methods used in selecting them is not exactly scientific. The site explained the reason why Louis Tomlinson deserved to be number three at their list of most influential people.
Tomlinson is a member of One Direction, a British boy band which earned millions of dollars in the sales of its records. He himself achieved global fame because of his talents.
Tomlinson's career took off when he and his band mates went to an X Factor audition in 2010. One Direction won third place in the X Factor; however, they gain recognition in the music, both in Britain and in the rest of the world.
One Direction is also recognized as the first band to have their first three albums start at number one in the U.S. Billboard 200. Aside from Louis Tomlinson, other members of One Direction include Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik.
Labor Leader Ed Miliband is at number four and a notch lower than Tomlinson in the list, but he does not need to feel bad since his position in the Power List actually improved compared to last year, The Independent UK reported. He only made it to number six in the previous list.
The second most influential in the list is Doncaster is Council Chief Jo Miller. She is credited for coining the "inspirational concept of Team Doncaster."
The most influential on the list is none other than Doncaster's Mayor Ros Jones. She is a former Askern Spa councilor and currently the head of the Doncaster Council. Her successful management of Doncaster is the main reason the mayor is on the top list.
