Michael Winterbottom's upcoming film "Face of An Angel" showcases the the 22-year old model Cara Delevingne's remarkable acting talent. The psychological thriller film is based on a book of Barbie Latza Nadeau entitled "Angel Face". The story follows the road to justice of an American student, Amanda Knox's trial who was charged with the actual murder crime of Meredith Kurcher, alongside with Raffaele Sollecito. Delevingne will play as Melanie, a non-existent character in the book, but actually takes a huge plot twist in the film. "My character comes in and she's not aware of it, she doesn't know she is doing it, but she makes Thomas see the light." Delevingne shares in an interview.
The film's vantage point will be in the eyes of director Thomas Lang (Daniel Bruhl), as he unravels the intricacies of Jessica Fullers' (Genevieve Gaunt) trial for murder and the mystery behind the death of Elizabeth Pryce (Sai Bennett). Watch the trailer here.
Director Speaks about hardships of the film, Official cast revealed
Director Winterbottom, popularly known for his films "The Killer Inside Me", "The Trip to Italy" and "The Look of Love" said that this was a film that he had to be careful about. Taking into consideration that the film was based on a true to life story, there were quiet ethics issues which he needs to address gently.
"It wasn't easy, as you would expect. There was a little bit of nervousness around it. The Italians were aware that the Americans were saying the Italian judicial system is rubbish, which is why she was found guilty. Even though it was a British film, they saw it as American. So we couldn't get away from that fear." Winterbottom told in an interview.
