What is beauty without the Beast? Emma Watson declared her involvement on 'Beauty and the Beast' film via social media in January, and this serves as her platform as well to tell new additions in the said film. The 24-year-old actress of 'Harry Potter' movie fame shared on Thursday that Dan Stevens will play the Beast, while Luke Evans is Gaston of upcoming Disney film.
"Could not be more happy that this man will be Beast!!! Welcome aboard @thatdanstevens #beautyandthebeast," the actress Twitter's message about Steven.
"Bonjour Gaston! ❤️ Welcome! #BeautyAndTheBeast," Emma's greet for Evans.
According to Variety behind Beauty and the Beast's script were Evan Spiliotopoulos and Steve Chbosky, while Disney appointed Bill Condon of 'Dream Girls' fame to direct the film. Meantime, Mandeville Films' David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman is also the producer of this project adapted from a fairy tale. Meantime, Just Jared reported that Academy award winner Emma Thompson will possibly play Mrs. Potts.
"I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx," Watson message on her Facebook status.
Before Watson's declaration, news about Beauty and the Beast movie had already circulating since 2013. In that year, it was reported Guillermo del Torro would direct the film under Warner Brothers. Though both del Torro and Warner are not part of this project, Emma, who's originally targeted to play Belle, remained to continue this musical film.
