If it seems she sees Miley Cyrus as her younger version, Madonna declared that Kanye West is her new and black alter ego. The 56-year-old pop icon expressed her penchant to Kim Kardashian's husband as she promoted her new album 'Rebel Heart' which Kanye contributed three tracks. Other modern artists who Madonna also summoned for album collaboration were Nicki Minaj, Avicii, Diplo, and Nas.
"Kanye is the new Madonna," the Material Girl singer said in her interview with New York Daily News. "Kanye is the black Madonna."
According to singer-actress, she and Kanye have one thing in common and that's for being into envelope- pushing genre. They're dreamer and in the same breath outspoken about their accomplishments.
"People have always judged me, and given me s--t about one thing or another. Now they're giving me s--t about age," Madonna shared. "It's bulls--t. And mostly I hear it from women. I feel I should be hearing support-like, 'Good for you.'
"I earned my stripes," she declared. "Bitch, I'm Madonna. And that's it."
For years, Madonna's is judged with her liberated views including about sexism and drugs. In fact, in her interview with 'The Jonathan Ross Show', slated to air on March 14, she admitted that she tried drugs and if in case she will let her 18-year old daughter Lourdes to try drugs but in moderation. In her Rebel Heart, the 'Papa Don't Preach' singer said it's the album that lets people remember what she's doing through the years. She added that tracks in it capture different ideas she's exploring.
"I think love resides in all of the songs, even when they are overtly sexual. Songs like Holy Water and Sex have humor. They're layered. We're dealing with different ideas that I'm constantly exploring - spirituality, sexuality, different aspects of love, whether it's romantic love or the love you have for your children. And love can be as devastating and destructive as it can be rejuvenating and life-giving. I guess I try to capture all of that," Madonna said in her interview with USA Today.
The 'Like A Virgin' songstress continued that her works with new artists Nicki Minaj, Avicii, Diplo, and Nas were rejuvenating. Like any other relationship that starts with acquaintances, they went through to common process of getting to know each before they had chemistry.
"Lots of people I'd never met before, though certainly people whose work I knew. Usually, with an album, I choose a producer and it takes us a few weeks to get to know each other, and then the chemistry starts to percolate. In this circumstance I kind of got thrown into lots of groups of songwriters. Some people I had direct synergy with...I felt so rejuvenated just in the simple act of writing music. I felt like I was back in New York, in Queens, where I picked up a guitar and wrote my first song. Ideas flowed simply out of me," Madonna shared.
