Guardians of the Galaxy landed a nice spot in theather hits, thus its producers announced during the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 that a sequel for the movie will be coming soon.
It is included in the Phase 3 of Marvel's Cinematic Universe project which is also accompanied by a released date, told by producers to be on 5 May 2017. With the released date already confirmed, James Gunn can't help but to open-up some spoilers for the production's loyal fans.
It is already confirmed that there will be at least two female characters on the team for the sequel. With Yondu and Kraglin, as the Ravagers, Nebula, and The Collector to appear in the second film series.
Although The Collector's role is not yet affirmed to be major, Gunn expressed some possibility, given the former's interesting character in the movie. The movie, unlike the first one, will focus more on the galaxy, as a whole, rather than in the individual characters.
Gunn also has one promise for all the anticipating movie-goers---the sequel is not just a copy-cat of the former. He pledged this saying, he sees The Guardians of the Galaxy as not a comic book series but rather a family drama.
So far, there are facts certain about the movies: first, Chris Patt's character, Peter Quill or Star Lord, will be featured again in the next movie, of course. His emotional ties with his dead mother will now bring him to his quest for his father, who turn out to be on Earth.
Gamora, on the other hand, will still fight along with our heroes. Her story will revolve around on how her abandoned family will pursue her. Everyone's favourite character, Groot, will now makes wonder on his new adventures for the second instalment of the movies. Groot has inspired a lot or his sacrificing efforts in the last film.
Drax the Destroyer will now focus on his hate over Thanos.
