Mick Thomson or MIckael Gordon Thomson in real life, Slipknot band guitarist was rushed to the hospital in Des Moines area in Clive, Iowa on Wednesday morning. Mick sustained a stab wound at the back of his head after engaging in a brawl with his brother, Andrew. Both were brought into the hospital for medical attention.
According to the authorities who responded to the incident, both brothers were seemed extremely intoxicated. The brothers engaged in a knife brawl after a heated argument, around 4AM in the morning. Both suffered from multiple stab wounds. Mick got injured at the back of the head.
Mick and Andrew were in the former's residence for a supposed night gathering along with other friends. Apparently, the two brothers had some misunderstanding which lead to the bloody incident.
Slipknot's lead singer, Cory Taylor, tweeted afterwards that he is looking into the situation of his bandmate and will find out the extreme facts himself. Afterwards, he will inform the public on the matter. Cory's latest update confirm that Mick is in a better condition now. He also thanked the fans for their support and prayers.
Iowa police, on the other hand, had release updates on the matter. They reported that neither of any parties engaged in the incident is cooperating, making it hard for the investigation to go forward. They said to still pursue the investigation upon the recovery of the two brothers from their sustained injuries.
No charge was reported to be filed yet. The platinum album selling-band has yet to release a formal statement on the matter. The band was supposed to take on a tour named Summer's Last Stand in July 24, 2015 in West Palm Beach, Florida, aside from its announced tour in April 25 in Fort Myers, Florida.
As a support for its latest album 5: The Gray Chapter, the band just performed in Australia's Soundwave festival.
