Robin Thicke and Paula Patton finally went their separate ways after nearly 9 years of marriage. The two have been together for 20 long years and have been inseparable since their teenage years. The singer and the actress claimed that their conclusive decision to separate was mutual.
Singer-songwriter Robin Thicke, 38, and actress Paula Patton, 39, have divorced. The "Blurred Lines" singer met Patton when they were only 14 and 15, respectively. The actress told Vanity Fair regarding her husband,"We've known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there's a deep love there - always was, and always will be."
The singer who is father to 4 year-old Julian Fuego, shared once in an interview about their marriage, "W'e're no different than any other couple out there, we have our fights and our problems, but we are madly in love and can't quit each other." He further opened up to Star magazine a few months ago, stating that "As a relationship progresses, you fall in love again in so many deeper ways. You realize that you need each other and you can't live without each other."
Their marriage reportedly became stirred more violently after the advent of of last year's VMAs wherein Thicke performed with Miley Cyrus. The notorious performance which featured a lot of sexually suggestive grinding between the two, allegedly outraged Paula who told her husband that she felt badly insulted before a national television audience.
The "Blurred Lines" singer, who rose to fame in 2013, was also allegedly caught partying with various women at different clubs, at one time even photographed grabbing onto an unidentified woman's behind.
Series of these events have triggered heated arguments between the two and have reportedly infuriated Paula. Robin tried to reach out to his wife, but she had made up her mind.
The couple released in a joint statement to People magazine, "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."
