Korean smartphone giant Samsung's next high-end phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, is expected to be released by July 2015, or towards the end of Q3 at the latest.

With an expected US$900 price tag, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 promises a lot of top-of-the-line features. For starters, it's going to feature the brand's new 14-nanometer 3GHz Exynos octa-core processor, making it the first model to do so.

If that's not enough, then the 27MP full rotating camera might sound interesting. In this age of constant mobility, social media and online presence, this will surely be a prized feature.

Complementing the camera is the unit's 5.9-inch AMOLED display boasting a 4k resolution (4x the resolution of 1080p). Right now, the phablet is rumored to have the same curved edge display

Another feature to watch out for is the Note's 4000mAh battery that is said to support the latest wireless charging and enhanced power-saving technologies. It's also rumored to have fast charging capabilities. The battery should be able to provide enough power to the phablet for it to support various memory-intensive apps.

Its metal frame design will also house a 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, said to be expandable up to 128GB. The unit will carry the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

To top it off, the Note 5 will come with a retina scanner for added security.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5's specifications are meant to revolutionize and set new standards in high-end smartphones. Talk about taking features to a whole new level.

Also, the company's mobile proprietary payment system called Samsung Pay, is most likely to be included in the unit. This is their response to Apple Pay, as well as Samsung's way to recognize the emerging importance of mobile payment technology.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to go head-to-head with the LG G4 Note and the Apple iPhone 6s Plus, all of which are expected to be released at the same time. Time will tell if the Korean manufacturer will remain to be the undisputed phablet leader.
