It's One Direction minus Zayn Malik for the band's 'On The Road Again' world concert Tour' in Philippines on March 22 and 23, and Indonesia on March 25. A spokesperson for the band cited that the 22- year old British singer went back to UK due to stress. Is it stress due to band's demanding works or bad feedback because of his viral photo with a mystery girl.
According to Mirror, Zayn didn't make it to do commercial recording with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson in Hong Kong on Thursday. In addition to this, the British singer also chopped the chance to meet his Filipino and Indonesian fans as he will possibly rejoin in group's concert in South Africa on March 28.
"Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta."
As for the reason, it's apparently because of the shared Instagram pictures which showed Zayn cozy with a blonde girl named Lauren Rich in Phuket, Thailand. Malik immediately clarified the issue on Twitter and set the record straight his girl is named Perrie Edwards.
"I'm 22 years old... I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous fucks in this world I'm sorry for what it looks like x," 1D member's tweet.
Perrie Edwards is part of Little Mix member, girl group named as champion of 'X Factor' 2011. She and Malik started to date in 2011 and got engaged August 2013. There's no comment yet from Edwards about the issue, but according to Hollywood Life's source she's the reason why Malik gave up three concert shows with his pals.
"She was furious about the pictures of him holding hands with an attractive blonde fan, and delivered an ultimatum to leave the tour and fix their relationship," the source shared.
"Zayn's been away on a world tour and it's difficult for them to maintain their commitment when they aren't together. Perrie reiterated, 'Get home if you want to sort this mess out, or we're done.'"
Meanwhile, an insider told The Sun that Zayn is struggling with fame and his anxiety is rooting from a fact that he's getting negative feedback when he didn't something wrong.
"Zayn finds it tougher than the rest of his bandmates dealing with fame. Having his every movement scrutinised causes great anxiety and the pictures which surfaced with the fan yesterday was the final straw. He did nothing wrong but the amount of criticism he received was simply too much. He needs to get away," the source said about Malik's struggle.
