"The Voice" former contestant Tess Boyer's friends and fans have no reason to worry - she is, after all, "completely fine" and "very safe," Boyer herself confirmed in a Youtube video posted Tuesday, March 17.
On Tuesday afternoon, Bria Kelly, Boyer's friend and fellow 'Voice' Season 6 competitor, took to Twitter to claim that Boyer "has been missing for weeks and has vanished from social media." She accompanied her post with hashtag #FindTessBoyer, which quickly trended as more friends posted questions and updates on Boyer's disappearance.
"Tess has not shown up to class and hasn't communicated with us," Kelly tweeted. "Her family will not give us any info. We need your help."
However, Boyer's father Pastor Roy Boyer told Gossip Cop that her daughter is "fine" and "not missing," despite her friends' concerns. Later that day Boyer herself decided to alleviate her fans and friends' fears by posting a brief video on Youtube, explaining her "disappearance" and suggesting a new hashtag trend.
"I just wanted to let everybody know I'm completely fine. I'm very safe. I'm not missing," Boyer said in the video. "I took a break from social media and from my phone and from different events in my life to completely clean out everything and to get back to where God's purpose for me is and to get back to the root of what His purpose, destiny and calling is in my life."
"That's why I sacrificed everything, so I can find out who that is and who He has called me to be," the aspiring singer continued. She eventually suggested others to "stop hashtagging #FindTessBoyer" but instead "hashtag #FindYourself. Thanks."
Boyer appeared on "The Voice" Season 6 and was originally picked in a solo chair turnaround by Usher. She was stolen twice: the first time by Blake Shelton and then again in the second battle round by Shakira, according to her NBC's Voice profile.
