New gameplay video released for 'Sword Coast Legends': What fans can expect in the latest installment

A new gameplay video released for "Sword Coast Legends" gives fans a firsthand look at what they can expect when they pick up and play the newest roleplaying title. The newest video, clocking in at approximately 10 minutes, focuses on the single-player segments of the game.

The video shows a party of four characters making their way into the city of Luskan. They are then shown meeting with yet another character inside a bar before making their way out into the slums surrounding the city and then ultimately finding themselves engaged in combat with undead hordes of enemies, according to PC Gamer.

Dan Tudge, the president and director of Sword Coast Legends, is the man narrating the gameplay video.

Players of the game may recognize the city of Luskan from previous titles associated with the Forgotten Realms name. All throughout the video, players can also recognize several references being made to the Forgotten Realms universe, according to Neoseeker.

Shown in the 10-minute video are some of the features found embedded into the game's mechanics. Some of the features revealed in the video include elements to the game which improve overall balance such as spells designed for combat being unspammable and tactical time pausing.

While the single player mode is the one showcased in the video, it is not the only aspect of the game worth getting excited about, according to Kotaku. Fans can also get excited about the "Dungeon Master" mode included in the game. In this mode, players can take on the role of DM as they help navigate characters throughout the provided map, similar to how the classic "Dungeons & Dragons" games are played.

The gameplay video also offers a brief sampling of the sounds that bring life to the world of "Sword Coast Legends." The PC-exclusive roleplaying game is currently scheduled to be released this year.
