Ansel Elgort to Star in next 'Spider-Man' film? 'Insurgent' Actor Scared or Uniterested to Play Peter Parker?

Chris Evans once told that he had apprehension in accepting 'Captain America' because of the long-term commitment to fit in one of the beloved Marvel characters. Is this also the reason why Ansel Elgort doubting, if ever, to accept a big role such as Spider-Man?

Though most of the stars tapped to play superhero characters have skyrocketing career, there are also some who are scared to try. Before he steps in as Steve Rogers, Evans was known as Human Torch of 'Fantastic Four.' With its easy to conclude that he had no second thought to accept titular role, but the 33-year-old rumored beau of Lily Collins admitted that he almost let pass the chance.

"There's a certain apprehension initially," Chris said in his filed interview with Access Hollywood. "When you do movies one at a time, there's a certain level of control you have in your career. With a six-picture contract, if one of these movies comes out, there's a positive response and as a result your personal life and your level of anonymity is altered.

"You may potentially need an opportunity to retreat and regroup. And if you have this contract, you may not be afforded that chance."

Going to Spider-Man, Elgort is named as of the possible choices to play Peter Parker in Screen Rant's account. According to the movie- oriented site, the 21-year-old actor proved acting prowess in 'Carrie' and 'The Fault in Our Stars' that suits to Peter's soft-hearted nature. However Elgort thought Spider-Man is too big for him.

"I don't know. I like 'Captain America', I thought that was a dope film, really cool but I don't know, I've never done it. I think it would be a big thing to do and a big commitment," he said on Screen Rant.

While it seems that Ansel is not keen on to wear body-fitting red and blue spidey suit, incidentally the 'Insurgent' actor also admitted that he's preventing Caleb Prior to look like a superhero. In an interview with Washington Post, the actor who's also known as EDM DJ Ansolo thought that his movie character is an anti-action guy.

"I wanted Caleb to look like he's not a superhero," Elgort shared. "It wouldn't make sense in this film if he ran like everyone else, if it looked like he could keep up. This isn't what people usually do in action films, but I don't care about that. I'm not trying to make him an action hero. He's an intellectual guy. He's the anti-action guy."

Does Ansel is dork like Caleb in real life that he's also not fit to do action-packed stunts? According to Shailene Woodley's co-star, he's a physical guy in real life.

"I played varsity basketball, I rock climb, I box. I don't run like that. But the least I could do is look really f-ing exhausted," he added. Do you think Ansel Elgort is suitable replacement for Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man? Share your comments below.
