Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi Call Dolce and Gabbana “ignorant”: Couple Together With Other Celebs Boycotts The Luxury Fashion Label

By

Ellen DeGeneres, together with wife Portia de Rossi, decided to boycott Dolce and Gabbana regarding the luxury fashion label founder's remark on having "synthetic babies." The couple joined Elton John and other showbiz personalities in ditching Dolce and Gabbana clothes.

Ellen and Portia made their comment about the controversial stand of business partners Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana on producing "synthetic babies" through artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization.

"It's not even worth commenting on because they're, you know, ignorant," DeGeneres told E! News at the 2015 GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday.

She also made it clear that she is never going to wear Dolce and Gabbana clothes "ever, ever again."

This unwelcomed remark by couple Stefano and Domenico also prompted John, who shares two sons with his husband, to call for a boycott. Soon other celebrities followed the lead. Courtney Love, Ricky Martin, talk-show host Andy Cohen and showrunner Ryan Murphy expressed their support, reported Monsters and Critics.

Dolce and Gabbana alter clarified their remarks, claiming that they do not mean to judge the other peoples choices.

Portia de Rossi acknowledged that everyone has freedom of speech, and that she respects, but what she doesn't understand is the seeming insensitivity of the statement.

"The only thing you can say is that, you know, we're all entitled to free speech," de Rossi, 42, told E! News. "However, I just don't understand who they are. I don't understand why they would want to say that."

Meanwhile, when Ellen DeGeneres was asked in an interview if she wants to have kids, she admitted that she's not sure if she can commit herself to raising a kid, reported Refinery29.

"I think I would - but that's not enough to have a kid. I love kids - but that's such a big commitment. It seems long-term. It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with. And, I just don't know if I can...it's too risky."

Did Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, together with other known personalities make a reasonable choice of boycotting Dolce & Gabbana? In any case that they decide to have babies, do you think it is a good idea considering their circumstances? Tell us what you think.
