It's official! Louis Tomlinson and Eleanor Calder announced their split to the public. A rep for the couple confirmed the break on People, attributing the delay in releasing a public statement to the couple's wish for privacy immediately after the breakup. The couple had been together for more or less 4 years, starting way back 2011. They broke up a little over two weeks ago.
The relationship had its own share of difficulties, and the couple really tried to make it work. It was even reported that, in a final endeavor, Eleanor flew miles to fix the relationship, travelling all the way to Sydney to talk with her man. However, a life on the road is just too much strain on a relationship, and the couple called it quits after a couple of weeks.
Since then, the 23-year-old singer was "really upset about it all," a friend of the singer offered. But then a few days later fans weren't so sure when Tomlinson was spotted smooching with an unknown woman in a bikini during the 1D's all-night party in Thailand.
It appears that most of the band members' romantic relationships are on the rocks recently. Just last week, Zayn Malik flew back to UK in the midst of One Directions On the Road Again World Tour to mend the relationship with his girlfriend Perrie Edwards after rumors of his 'cheating' broke through the internet. And now it seems his fellow 1D band member is suffering the same troubles.
In spite of all the band members' individual troubles, the show must still go on. One Direction pulled off an amazing performance during the weekend in the MOA Concert Grounds. Manila, Philippines. Their next stop is in Jakarta, Indonesia, where they'll perform March 25th as yet another part of the Asian leg of their world tour.
