The "Final Fantasy" box set, which includes "Final Fantasy VII," "Final Fantasy VIII," and "Final Fantasy IX," is now delayed until further notice.
The box set was officially slated for a March 17 release, but game retailers have recently updated their listings to now show the game has no official launch date. Amazon currently expects the box set to be released in July, according to Game Idealist.
Inside the box set, fans will find the official strategy guides for the three games, including a ribbon bookmark. All three of the official strategy guides are also in hardcover. Holographic lithographs are also included in the box set.
No official date for when the box set will be released has been announced.
Other news coming out over the weekend related to the "Final Fantasy" involves the success of the newly released "Final Fantasy Type-0" for the Playstation 4.
After a strong showing over the weekend, "Final Fantasy Type-0" finished second to "Battlefield Hardline" on the list of the top-selling games in the UK, according to Gamespot.
It is the title's first appearance on the list, which accounts for all the games bought inside the UK across all formats.
With "Type-0" continuing its impressive run after an already successful showing on the Playstation Portable, talk of a possible sequel has unexpected begun to gain steam.
Prior to being assigned to "Final Fantasy XV," "Type-0" director Hajime Tabata was already working on a follow-up to the game, according to Techno Buffalo.
Despite the delay, it still appears a sequel to the game is in the works especially with its ending hinting as much.
Tabata also made an appearance at a recent "Final Fantasy" event in Hong Kong in which he showed off art work for "Final Fantasy Type-Next," according to Siliconera.
As of now, a sequel to "Type-0" has yet to be confirmed.
