OnePlus had released its flagship killer mobile in 2014 and the mobile phone company had gone to a lot of means in altering its OnePlus One. The mobile company had parted ways with its original software provider, Cyanogen and had even gone far as to produce their own software, the Oxygen OS. And recently, there are reports that OnePlus will be hosting an Android 5.0 Lollipop.
OnePlus had confirmed that they will be releasing an Android Lollipop update this coming March. OnePlus One users will now have an Android experience in their smart phones. This was confirmed by the OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei(via Know Your Mobile) after receiving tons of requests from the social network. According to the post, CM 12S for OnePlus One will be released on or before March 30, 2015 while the Oxygen OS (OnePlus Lollipop-based ROM) will be released on or before March 27, 2015. The post also stated that if the company gets delayed in releasing on the said dates, they will be giving away five 64GB OnePlus One smart phones to their fans.
As of date, OnePlus had already released a trial version of the Lollipop update to test whether the device has bugs or if it has performance issues. This software update will give birth to an improved OnePlus One. However, OnePlus had confirmed the following issues in their update.
1. Data roaming has been set on default. So the users are advised to turn it off to avoid charges.
2. The device supports a 4K video but the quality is still low. The camera and video may prove to be quite unstable.
3. In activating the software keys, make sure that the capacitive keys are turned off. This feature is not set on default.
4. The mobile's clock crashes periodically.
5. Start-up time is slow on the first boot. However, OnePlus had promised to speed things up in the coming days.
No device is perfect, as well as no update is perfect. That is why mobile companies are doing their best in improving their devices. Let us just watch out for the upcoming innovations that OnePlus will be bringing to the mobile market.
