Lenovo Smartphone Releases: Vibe Shot Announced, K3 Note Unveiled

By

Lenovo appears to have pulled out all the stops in its effort to keep up with the competition.

Earlier this month at the Mobile World Conference, the Chinese multinational company formally announced the June 2015 release of its "two-in-one" camera smartphone device. It has buttons on the side of the unit (similar to how regular cameras are), aside from the ones regularly found on smartphones. The unit also has a low light sensor and a tri-color flash, as well as optical image stabilization, making it seem like a regular camera. Speaking of camera, it has a 16MP main camera (2997 x 5328 pixels) and an 8MP front camera. Not bad.

As for phone specs, this LTE-ready dual nano-sim phone is 142 x 70 x 7.3mm (W-H-D) in size and 145 grams in weight. It's also got a 5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Its Android 5.0 OS relies on a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset with a quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU. Also known as Lenovo Vibe Max, this smartphone has an internal storage of 32GB which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card, paired with 3GB RAM. For power supply, it has a non-removeable Li-Po 2900 mAh battery. It will be available in crimson, white, and gray variants.

The Lenovo Vibe Shot is pegged at US$349.

While waiting for the Vibe Shot to come out, Lenovo fans and observers can check out the recently released LTE-ready dual micro-SIM Lenovo K3 Note, also known as Lenovo K3 Note K50-t5.

This newest Lenovo offering targets the mid-range buyer, giving a quality phablet for US$145 for a decent list of specs.

This Android 5.0 device is powered by a Mediatek MT6752 chipset with an octa-core 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and a Mali-T760MP2 GPU. It has an internal 16GB memory, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, and 2GB RAM. Its main camera is 13MP (4128 x 3096 pixels), while its secondary camera is 5MP.

The K3 Note is 152.6 x 76.2 x 8mm in size and 150 grams in weight, with a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display.
