After Mass Effect 3's somewhat unsatisfactory ending, fans of this successful franchise are anxious for the next instalment in the series. Mass Effect 4 is under development but it is likely that the game won't hit the market until way into 2016. However, in a series of teasing tweets coming from ME4 developers, the biotic and combat of the new title '...looks amazing."
Mass Effect's senior development director, Chris Wynn teased fans with game updates through twitter, telling that they are making strides, especially in the combat system. He further credits the overall improvement of the game's mechanics to the new hardware it is running on.
Developers also inform ME fans through twitter that they have passed an important milestone in the development. This means that they can further fine tweak the game to resolve issues and inconsistencies. Though the game is still a work in progress, according to tweets from ME developers and Chris Wynn, all is good with ME4. Eurogamer also contributed to the teasing spree as they report that ME4 will have a new protagonist and new regions of space to explore.
The Mass Effect series marks a definitive moment in RPG history. It is among the first and most innovative games that seamlessly infuses a somewhat linear story-telling mechanism with role-playing, choose your path abilty turning it into an 'interactive narrative' concept. Mass Effect 2 particularly gained the appreciation and admiration of gamers and critics alike and was quickly considered as one of the greatest games of all time.
As teasers and tweets of the game's progress continue, fans are still wondering when the ME4 will be released. Though many rumours have been circulating over the net, a curious, insider hint was revealed on NeoGaf that EA will most likely release the game on spring 2016 as Battlefield 5 is set for a fall release. However, before fans get their hand on the ME4, a Mass Effect trilogy, with a bit of added content, will be released first on PS4, XBO and PC hopefully later this year.
