China-based tech firm Oppo is still building a name for itself in the smartphone arena but it seems like the company is on the verge of showing off the world it has got with its R7 slated to be the world's first smartphone that possesses no bezels.
A leaked video stemmed from a Chinese social media shows Oppo R7 almost having no bezels as its screen takes up much space to its right and left sides. However, an Oppo patent has revealed that the bezels of the phone lies in an illusory visuals where they divert the light to make the device's display appear all the way to the edge.
With a bezel-less smartphone, the R7 is reported to beat Sharp Aquos Crystal who has the thinnest existing smartphone bezel ever made. Aside from the technology in bezels, Oppo R7 is also expected to wear a thin build at only 4.85mm thick, similar to R5.
The video also shows quick functions of the new Music Player and the Video Player. Aside from that, the phone sports a front camera at the top and a three-button frame at the screen's bottom.
According to Anzhuo (Via Google Translate), R7 is reported to possess a MediaTek 64-bit MT6795 octa-core processor and a 21MP back-facing camera, the most powerful yet in smartphone history. A 4G LTE network support is also expected to come out with the phone as a certification from the Indonesian Telecom Certification Authority has also come out.
Oppo is the new rising smartphone brand in the market today offering the slimmest phones and other world-breaking designs not even high-end companies like Apple and Samsung were not able to pull off.
Oppo has not revealed any official statement yet regarding the leaked video and the reality of a bezel-less smartphone to come from the company. No launch date has been set for the Oppo R7.
