AT&T is the next mobile carrier in the U.S. to roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and 3, as well as the Galaxy S5.
AT&T has made the update available both in Galaxy Note 4 and 3 devices on March 24, 2015. Android 5.0 Lollipop is 1.2GB over-the-air (OTA) update best downloaded via Wi-Fi. Galaxy Note 4 devices with model number SM-N910A first receives the update in phases. AT&T is the second major mobile carrier in the U.S. to roll out Android 5.0 on Galaxy Note 4 with Sprint taking the lead on March 5. Galaxy Note 3 devices with model number SM-N900A will receive the update in phases.
Note that when beginning the automatic update, all running services, including emergency calls will be temporarily suspended for a few minutes on the duration. Once Android 5.0 is successfully downloaded, the device will reboot. When prompted that the device is ready to use, tap OK.
If device owners do not receive the update automatically, here's a good way to go.
1. Go to Settings menu.
2. Tap General tab.
3. Tap About device.
4. Tap Software updates.
5. Tap Check for updates.
6. Follow the remaining prompts.
Android 5.0 Lollipop features priority mode notifications, new battery saving features, stability and security improvements, and service additions like Find My Mobile and Reactivation lock. However, there is less visible of enhancements on Material Design for Samsung devices.
