Chart-topping Canadian rapper Drake has come out with a norm-busting mixtape that's actually an album, and it has drawn mixed reviews. If You're Reading This It's Too Late features original songs, but unlike his breakout mixtape So Far Gone, it doesn't come for free.

The surprise mixtape is sold at a retail price of a little less than $13 via iTunes, SoundCloud and Spotify. Drake's fans had eagerly anticipated something new from the singing sensation at the start of the year. Well, they got a package that showcases the rapper's raw talent and rhythmic ability.

The talented singer posted a question on Instagram asking for feedback about his new mixtape/album and the response was favorable. Drake rocks, and fans lost no time in telling him that he's awesome.

The songs that are part of If You're Reading This It's Too Late wended their way to Billboard's "Top Hip-Hop/R&B Songs" chart. Among the song selections are "Preach" featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR,"Truffle Butter" by Nicki Minaj featuring Drake & Lil Wayne, "Company" featuring Travis Scott, "Legend," "Energy" which states how there are lots of people who drain a nigger's energy, and "Madonna" which expresses the singer's admiration for the famous singer, as he speaks to a girl he has the hots for. Madonna liked the song, fanning news that a collaboration with Drake is not a remote possibility. Incidentally, there's reportedly a chopped unreleased version of "Madonna."

The other much anticipated project that fans are looking forward to is Views From The 6. The yet to be released album is said to have taken much of the rapper's time.

Avid fans have come to expect a breakthrough mixtape from Drake since he began churning out amazing mixtapes that have gotten the attention of famous artists and music enthusiasts. At one point in his career, he had Kanye West as director for his "Best I Ever Had" 2009 video. To date, Drake's fast rising to become "The Next Big Thing" in hiphop/R&B. His huge fanbase, recognition from colleagues, and the yet-to-be-released Views From The 6 may attest to that.
