Microsoft will be releasing its latest device which will mark a change in the gaming world. The company will be producing a VR headgear that is said to compete against other Virtual Reality headgears like the Oculus Rift and the Project Morpheus. According to reports, Microsoft will be releasing to the market its very own VR headset, the Microsoft HoloLens this 2015.
The Microsoft HoloLens will be a standout against its fellow virtual reality headgears because of its awesome specs and feats. The HoloLens will have its own processing unit which is named the HPO or the Holographic Processing Unit. This processor will enable the device to integrate the real world environment to the virtual realm. It is possible that you can simulate your gaming environment to reality, like having your virtual buildings on top of your table. Its main processor is a Cherry Trail chipset which is according to rumors is smaller, faster, and has more features as compared to the Bay Trail Processor.
The VR headgear will also support the Kinect 2.0 for its sensors. It features a 1080 pixel color camera and an infrared sensor. The HoloLens will feature a RealSense Gesture control. This would give the users the ability to manipulate the HoloLens through gestures. The Microsoft HoloLens also has Intel's WiDi technology. This would enable the users to stream various movies, games, and apps.
And the most amazing feature that the Microsoft would be able to offer to its potential users is that it will be hosting a game called "HoloStudio". This game is similar to MineCraft since it lets its players knock on holes through real-world objects. The players can then reveal digital environments. This game can also let its player create 3 dimensional graphics and models which can be exported to 3D printers.
Yet with regards to its release date, Microsoft has not yet revealed its specific release. Other sources would claim that the HoloLens will be released on April together with the Windows 10 but others would say that it would be launched as early as July or as late as December.
